The legalization of slot machine gambling in 1995 stimulated the growth of a new sector of the Delaware labor force. This sector includes jobs at gambling establishments and jobs in supporting services, such as hotels, restaurants, and bars. Gambling also brings visitors from out-of-state who spend money at stores, gas stations, motels, and restaurants.
