Of these, 914 identified themselves as gamblers seeking assistance to stop or control their gambling. The Help Line was established as a partnership between the Nova Scotia Department of Health and the contractor CHC Atlantic. Its goal was to deliver a telecommunication counselling information and referral service to those persons and their familes affected with problem gambling in the Province of Nova Scotia.
