dc.description.abstractIt is generally assumed that the phonology of Andalusian (and therefore of Sevillian) Spanish is readily derivable from that of standard Castllian by the application of a few simple rules. My investigations in the Province of Seville. carried out in 1981 and 1983. have shown not only that the above rules are oversimplifications, but also that there are additional differences that cannot be accounted for by strictly phonological rules.en_US
