This survey builds on a foundation of data already gathered by similar studies conducted in previous years, since 1993. Originally a smaller survey consisting of 18 schools (most of which were included because they had implemented some substance use prevention programs that required evaluation), it has now grown into a large-scale study consisting of over 50 schools and 5000 students. As substance use and youth involvement in gambling appears to be occurring at earlier and earlier ages, this study and the most recent study in 2005 have included grade 7 and grade 8 students. Prior to 2005 these reports only included students in seniors 1 through 4.eng
